A cold front is bringing some light showers to Maui County and the Big Island, with cloudy skies but drier conditions for the remainder of the state. The front, which was over Maui Saturday morning, will slowly move eastward before stalling over the Big Island. The smaller islands will enjoy cooler, drier weather behind the front, with high temperatures in the upper 70s, but wet weather will linger of the Big Island for several more days. A Wind Advisory is posted for the summit areas of the Big Island as well.
Surf will be rising quickly thanks to an incoming north-northwest swell. A High Surf Warning will take effect at 2 p.m. for the north and west shores of Kauai and Niihau, while a High Surf Advisory will also take effect for the north and west shores of Oahu and Molokai and the north shores of Maui. There's also a Small Craft Advisory for coastal waters surrounding the smaller islands.
