LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A flood advisory was issued for Oahu Thursday afternoon as unstable weather continues to cause heavy showers in some areas.

The advisory is in effect until 11:00 p.m. Thursday.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service say radar showed heavy rains falling along the leeward coast of Oahu and over most of the Waianae mountains, as well as over the Koolau Mountains and communities from Waimanalo to Hawaii Kai.

Rainfall amounts between one and two inches are expected.

The advisory may need to be extended if heavy rains persist.
