KIHEI, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 10-foot tiger shark was spotted Wednesday afternoon in waters off Maui, the state Department of Land and Natural Resources said.
According to officials, someone reported seeing what appeared to be a tiger shark in shallow waters at the Kealia boardwalk at around 1 p.m.
The person who saw it said the shark made a few tight circles, but he didn't see any obvious sources of food. The shark then swam away and up towards the Maalaea harbor.
No other shark sightings have been reported since.
