Authorities searching for missing WCCC furlough inmate

KAILUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Authorities are searching for a Women's Community Correctional Center furlough inmate who failed to return to the facility on Tuesday night.

According to state sheriffs, 61-year-old Wendy Canon was scheduled to return by 9 p.m.

Canon was serving time for promotion of a dangerous drug, but now faces an additional escape charge.

She's described as about 5'7" and weighing approximately 126 pounds. She has salt-and-pepper hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who sees her is asked to call authorities.
