The trade winds will blow at 15-25 mph with gusts as high as 40 mph this afternoon. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny with passing showers.
High in Honolulu will be 84 degrees.
High pressure passing north of the islands will provide breezy to locally strong trade winds through Tuesday.
Areas of moisture embedded in on the trades will bring increased clouds and showers to some windward and mauka areas at times this week. Right now, it looks like Tuesday and Thursday will be wettest.
Trade wind speeds will gradually decline during the latter half of the week as low pressure develops to our north.
A cold front may move down the island chain late Friday through Saturday, followed by drier and cooler northerly winds.
Surf is elevated all around. Waves will be especially dangerous along east shores exposed to the strong winds.
Waves today will be 6-9 feet north, 4-7 feet west, 4-6 feet east, 2-4 feet south.
Small craft advisory for all Hawaii waters.
