HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Shockingly, the Rainbow Warrior volleyball team's season is over before it ever really got started.
Coming off a second place finish in the inaugural big West Conference tournament, Hawaii (19-8) was not selected as an at-large team for the NCAA Tournament when the field was announced today.
The decision comes as a surprise to many seeing as the 'Bows were the only team to defeat No. 1 Long Beach State this season and have beaten UC Irvine (21-9), who earned an at-large bid, twice this season including a 3-1 victory this past Friday in the conference tournament.
Additionally, Hawaii holds a win over UCLA, who was also selected to the tournament. The Warriors are the only team in the country with wins over both UCLA and LBSU.
