LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Warrior volleyball team made it to the Big West Conference tournament final, but fell short of winning it all today against Long Beach State in straight-sets (25-23, 25-14, 25-19).
The second-seeded Warriors (19-8) don't have an automatic bid for the NCAA Tournament after the loss, but are likely to receive an at-large bid.
The Beach (26-1) avenged their only loss of the season to the 'Bows, forcing Hawaii to hit for a season-low .152 on the match.
The Warriors were led by opposite Rado Parapunov's 10 kills and was the only player in the match to reach double figures. Outside hitter Brett Rosenmeier had eight kills while Stijn van Tilburg added six kills.
LBSU was led by TJ DeFalco and Kyle Ensing, who each tallied eight kills. Setter Josh Tuaniga was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
