WAIMANALO, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Sea Life Park celebrated Earth day a day early on Saturday with its annual community beach cleanup.
For the event, Sea Life Park teamed up with Malama Na Honu to educate the public about conservation efforts. Beach cleanup participants also got the opportunity to witness two Hawaiian green sea turtles being released into the ocean.
Before they were released, students from the Malama Honua Public Charter School named the turtles Hoku and Kaupo.
The first 100 beach cleanup volunteers received free admission to Sea Life Park's Earth Day celebration, which will include craft beer, music, and a host of fun activities for the entire family.
