HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Makaha native Yancy Medeiros, one of the UFC's most exciting fighters in the welterweight division, is making his return to the Octagon, according to Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Medeiros will look to move on from his TKO loss to Donald Cerrone earlier this year when he faces Mike Perry, who is looking to snap a two-fight losing streak at UFC 226 in Las Vegas on July 7th.
Perry had won four of his first five fights in the UFC and is coming off a loss to Max Griffin in February. Medeiros had a three-fight win streak of his own before he lost to Cerrone.
Medeiros tweeted out a message a couple of days ago hinting at a return, but did not reveal who his opponent would be.
Facing off against Perry, who is as game as Medeiros is for a brawl, this could easily be a "Fight of the Night" contender on a card headlined by heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier,.
