Sam's Club calls customers after E. coli outbreak linked to lettuce

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Sam's Club is calling customers about an E. coli scare.

The big box retailer tells customers they can return several variations of chopped salads distributed by Taylor Farms over the issue.

But Taylor Farms, which produces several varieties of popular mixed salads, stresses that no recall order has been issued.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating the E. coli outbreak nationwide, and said the problem appears to originate with chopped romaine lettuce originating in Yuma, Ariz.

They say 35 people got sick in 11 states. So far, no one has gotten sick in Hawaii.
