KAUAI (Hawaii News Now) - The Hawaii Department of Health has issued a brown water advisory for most of the island of Kauai, after weekend rains brought severe flooding on the island.
Everywhere but the area between Keoniloa Bay and Poipu Beach is under the advisory, and DOH advises Kauai residents and visitors to avoid flood waters due to the possible presence of dead animals, fecal matter, or other runoff.
Not all coastal areas may be affected by flood runoff, but if the water is brown — stay out. The advisory will be in effect until further notice.
