MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

University of Hawaii officials sent out an email alert to students and faculty of the Maui campus detailing a frightening moment for a young boy.

According to the UH Alert email, a 9-year-old boy was reportedly harassed by a white male Wednesday evening.

University officials said the boy was playing in a grassy area between the Ka Lama and Noii buildings when he fell.

"The male placed one foot on the boy's chest and stated, 'You're about to know me,'" the alert stated.

The suspect then fled toward the Ike Lea building.

He's described as standing anywhere between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall.

He has white hair and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and shorts.

Maui police were notified but no arrests have been reported in connection with the incident.

Officials urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has additional information to call Campus Security at 984-3255.
