HILO, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) - It's going to cost more to visit some of Hawaii's most popular national parks.
The National Park Service announced Thursday its plans to increase entrance fees at 117 parks in the United States.
That includes Hawaii Volcanoes National park, Haleakala National Park and Puuhonua O Honaunau national historical park.
This June, the tri-park pass — which can get you into all three parks — will increase from $30 to $50.

In January of 2020, it will go up another $5.
The price per vehicle at Haleakala and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park will remain at $25 until 2020, when it will increase to $30.
At Puuhonua O Honaunau, the cost per vehicle will triple to $15 in June and go up another $5 in 2020.
The park service says the fee increases will help improve the visitor experience and address infrastructure needs.
