MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Multiple parts of the state are recovering from the weekend's wet weather conditions, when all the islands were under flash flood watch.
In Maui, rain conditions got so severe that a large landslide forced authorities to close the Iao Valley State Monument in Wailuku on Sunday.
Two trees fell and blocked both lanes of the road above Kepaniwai Park, and clean up crews continued working Monday to clear the area. A few vehicles were stuck above the debris, but later managed to get out.
The park is still closed at this time, along with Polihale Park on Kauai, and Kaena State Park on Oahu, which also closed due to severe flooding and rainy conditions in the area.
