Overturned Corvette causes gas leak on Waialae Ave.

WAIALAE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Just before 1:45 p.m. Saturday, a Corvette overturned in a two-car accident on Waialae Avenue. 

According to the Honolulu Fire Department, two people were able to get out of the overturned vehicle with minor injuries. 

A man and a woman were treated and stabilized by EMS.

The passengers in the second vehicle, a man and a woman, were uninjured.

HFD said, in the accident, the Corvette hit a tile wall which damaged a synthetic natural gas meter that serviced a nearby apartment.

Hazmat crews responded and stopped the gas leak. A nearby apartment building was evacuated as a precaution.

The road has since been cleared.
