Man dies after apparent construction-related fall at HNL Airport

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man is dead after falling 15-feet in a construction-related incident at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport shortly after noon Thursday.

EMS officials say the 51-year-old man was at the former Hawaiian Airlines Cargo Facility when he fell.

He was working as a contracted employee at the facility preparing the building for demolition.

Emergency crews responded around 12:15 p.m. and began treating the man.

He was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died.

An investigation has been opened. The man has not yet been identified.
