HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - While UFC Hall-of-Famer Urijah Faber had his farewell fight inside of the Octagon back in 2016, he wouldn't rule out a chance to fight in the islands if a UFC Hawaii event was able to come together.
"I think that would be very tempting," Faber said earlier today at the UFC Gym's Honolulu location. "I've lived life just to have experiences and fighting Hawaii would be pretty cool. I wouldn't count it out, let's just say that."
Faber is on Oahu working self-defense seminars with Hawaii native and fellow Octagon legend, BJ Penn. For Penn, who hasn't officially announced his retirement from fighting, the opportunity to fight in his home state would be the only way he can see himself returning anytime soon.
"I don't know. I know I talk about it and say stuff, but for sure I don't think you're gonna see me fighting around anywhere," Penn said. "You're not going to see me fighting. But you never know - UFC Hawaii? I mean, I'd say that's where I'd have to sit down and think with my family about … Urijah would be in for sure. We'll see, you never know."
