UH law student gets national recognition for community contributions

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - University of Hawaii at Manoa law student Mahesh Cleveland was recognized as one of the top 20 law students of the year on Tuesday.

In National Jurist magazine, Cleveland was recognized for his contributions to the William S. Richardson School of Law and local community.

Cleveland got his bachelor's degree from UH Manoa in 2015, and is originally from Huelo in East Maui.

The Native Hawaiian law student was nominated for the honor by the faculty at UH Manoa's law school.
