HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Game 1 of the Rainbow Warrior baseball team's four-game series against Seton Hall was cut short Friday night after a rain delay postponed the game until Saturday. Despite leading in the early innings against Seton Hall on Friday, the Warriors fell short in Game 1, losing 9-8 in extra innings.
Game 2 of the series took place shortly afterward at Les Murakami Stadium, but the 'Bows couldn't keep up the visiting side, who cruised to a 5-1 victory over Hawaii.
The bats cooled for the Warriors(12-8) in the second game of the series as Seton Hall (9-9-1)
Got things going early off consecutive bunt-base hits to grab a two-run lead in the fourth, courtesy of a Connor Hood triple into right center.
The Pirates tacked up their third straight scoring inning with a two-out RBI single from Tyler Shedler-McAvoy in the fifth.
Although the Rainbow Warriors mounted a ninth-inning rally, the tie run finished the night in the on-deck circle, as Seton Hall moved to 2-0 in the series while doling out the 5-1 UH loss.
The Warriors and Pirates return to Les Murakami for the third game of the series on Sunday. First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.
