AIEA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Shoppers converged on the Toys R Us at Pearlridge to take advantage of liquidation sales that started Friday.
The chain, which delighted generations of American kids who vowed to "never grow up," announced earlier this month that it planned to close or sell all of its U.S. stores in the coming months.
Toys R Us stores in Hawaii will close May 14, and 48 employees have been given termination notices.
The liquidation sales at Hawaii stores included 30 percent off lots of merchandise. The message from the company: Everything must go.
