We talked with Beverly Santos, Special Events Manager for Hawaii Foodbank and Chef Robynne Maii from Fete in Chinatown. The Hawaii Foodbank is hosting its 12th annual Great Chefs Right Hunger Fundraiser this Saturday at the Foodbank's Mapunapuna Warehouse on Saturday March 24, 2018.
Hawaii's greatest chefs and pastry chefs will come together at the Hawaii Foodbank Mapunapuna Warehouse to feature delicious samples of savory and sweet dishes, fine wines, sakes and beers, and live entertainment.
The proceeds generated from the event will help Hawaii Foodbank to continue providing food assistance to more than 123,000 households.
General admission tickets are priced at $200. VIP tickets and tables are also available. VIP entry is at 5 p.m.; general entry is at 6 p.m.
Guests can try their key at unlocking the Cellar Door for a chance to win a fine selection of wines and liquor. You can purchase your tickets online.
Chef Robynne Maii along with her husband/General Manager of Fete offer seasonal new American neighborhood restaurant where classic techniquest meet island flavors and ingredients. Robynne is a local girl who spent 12 years away from Hawaii, and returned to graduate from Kapiolani Community College and continues her love for food. Their restaurant is like 1/2 Hawaii and 1/2 Brooklyn, NY where she lived for awhile!
Featured dish for Great Chefs Fight Hunger® event will consist of duck country pate, guava mostarda, pickled okra and Hawaiian sweet bread.
