Family escapes 2-alarm house fire in Aiea

AIEA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu fire crews extinguished a large blaze that broke out from a single-story home in Aiea on Thursday morning.

More than 30 firefighters responded at around 6:15 a.m. to the two-alarm fire at Pilikoa Street and Kanaloa Street, near the Aiea Public Library.

The fire was extinguished by 7:50 a.m., the Honolulu Fire Department said.

All occupants -- a couple and their child -- were able to escape the flames.

No injuries were reported.

An investigator is looking into the cause as well as damage estimates.
