Trade winds will increase to locally breezy levels by afternoon and get even stronger Wednesday. Expect 15-20 mph in most locations today.
A mix of clouds, showers, and some sunshine today. Showers should be light and fall mainly on windward and mauka neighborhoods.
High in Honolulu will be 80 degrees.
The strong high creating our breezy conditions will get pushed away to the east by an approaching front later in the week. As that happens, a surface low will form right on top of us and locally heavy rainfall will be possible.
Small to moderate surf all shores today, but a new northeast swell will roll in tomorrow and bring very large and dangerous waves to the islands. Both north and east shores will see waves in the 20-25 foot range. Use extreme caution along those shorelines.
