Injured hiker rescued on Koko Head Trail

KOKO HEAD (Hawaii News Now) - A 29-year-old woman was rescued by Honolulu firefighters after injuring her lower leg on Koko Head trail.

Two hikers visiting the island were on their way down from the hike when the woman injured her leg.

Honolulu firefighters found the woman on foot at 11:23 a.m. before having her stabilized and airlifted to the landing zone at Koko Head District Park.

She was transferred to the care of Emergency Medical Services at 12:09 p.m.
