HENDERSON, NEVADA (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 42-year-old man is accused of killing his wife, a former Hawaii woman, near Las Vegas on Saturday.
Police arrested Willie Bain after he admitted to beating 42-year-old Crystal Felipe to death with a hammer because he believed she was seeing other men, according to media reports.
Police were initially called to the couple's home after Felipe's family members found a pool of blood in the garage, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal also said Bain made a series of cryptic phone calls to Felipe's sister.
"You won't see us anymore. She's seeing someone," he told the woman over the phone. "Come get the kids."
When Felipe's sister and brother arrived at the couple's home, they found the three young children safe but alone in the house.
Bain reportedly drove off with Felipe's body in the trunk of his SUV, sparking an hours-long manhunt.
Authorities said Bain called 911 later that night to report that his wife needed medical assistance. They located him in the parking lot of a hotel-casino with Felipe's body lying near the rear of the SUV.
He was taken into custody on one count of open murder with a deadly weapon.
According to the Clark County Coroner's Office, Felipe died from multiple blunt force injuries. Her death was ruled a homicide.
