Unstable weather through the weekend. An upper level low just to the northwest of Kauai continues to pull very moist and unstable air up from the south, bring with it showers, heavy showers, and thunderstorms.
Overnight it's been consistently wet on the Island of Hawaii and much of Maui County. A cluster of very heavy showers is lurking just to the south of the Big Island. We will be watching it closely.
As for an Oahu forecast expect cloudy skies, scattered showers that could at times be heavy, humid and hazy conditions, with east winds at 10-20 mph with stronger gusts.
Surf has grown along east shores and an advisory has been posted. Forecasters expect the east-shore waves to hold through Monday and then get bigger.
Waves today will be 6-9 feet east, 5-8 feet north, 3-5 feet west, 1-3 feet south.

High Surf Advisory for east shores of most islands.
