Tours of U.S.S. Arizona Memorial suspended ahead of expected thunderstorm

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM (HawaiiNewsNow) - Tours of the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial were suspended Thursday morning in anticipation of incoming thunderstorms, according to the National Parks Service.

A post on the official Facebook page for the World War II Valor In The Pacific National Monument said it was suspending boat service to the memorial 'due to the threat of lightning strikes.'

The memorial's visitor center and other sites were scheduled to remain open.
