OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Department of Health has issued Brown Water advisories for several Oahu beaches.
DOH says that beach goers should avoid Lanikai, Kailua and North Shore beaches after heavy rains caused storm water runoff to enter coastal waters.
The public is advised to stay out of flood and storm waters due to the increased risk of pesticides, animal feces and other bacterial health hazards. While not all coastal waters may be affected, the DOH advises to stay out if the water is visibly brown.
