Department of Health issues brown water advisory in Kapoho

The Department of Health issued a Brown water Advisory in Kapoho on the Big Island Tuesday after heavy rains caused storm water runoff to enter coastal waters.

DOH advises the public to stay out of flood and storm water runoff due to possible health hazards like dead animals, overflowing cesspools and chemicals.

Not all coastal waters may be affected by runoff, but the DOH cautions residents — 'If the water is brown stay out'.
