PUNA, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - The search continues for a Big Island man wanted in connection to an attempted murder case.
On Friday Feb. 9, police responded to reports of gunfire and a woman yelling at the Tiki Gardens subdivision in Puna.
When police arrived, the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Jayse Polaris Lee, fled the scene on a dirt bike.
As he fled, police say Lee allegedly fired one shot at an officer before escaping on foot into the bushes.
The officer was not injured nor did the officer return gunfire.
Lee is described as being 5' 6" tall with black hair and brown eyes. He weighs around 250 pounds and has facial hair.
Police say since his last photograph on file, he may have lost some weight.
He's also known to frequent the Makuu area. Officials say he may be armed and is considered dangerous.
