HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A skunk was discovered at Pier 1 at Honolulu Harbor on Friday morning.
It's the first skunk to be captured and handed over to the state Agriculture Department since officials started keeping records.
The state Agriculture Department said stevedores captured the skunk about 7:15 a.m. at the pier.
The stevedores used plastic traffic barriers to contain the animal until inspectors could arrive.
The animal will be tested for rabies.
State veterinarians identified the animal as a young adult skunk weighing 3.5 pounds.
Video sent to Hawaii News Now shows a skunk running around in circles with its head stuck in a plastic cup.
The skunk is believed to have been on a ship from San Diego, Calif.
