HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A planned power outage Thursday will affect four Ala Moana condominiums and a number of businesses.
Hawaiian Electric Company said the outage will run from 11 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday.
Crews will be making repairs on a Kona Street cable that serves several condos and businesses, including Walmart and Sam's Club. The cable that will be de-energized also serves the Ewa wing of Ala Moana Center and four condos: One Ala Moana, Waihonua, Moana Pacific and Hawaiki Tower, HECO said.
"We apologize to customers who will be inconvenienced by this emergency repair work," said Jim Alberts, senior vice president of customer service for Hawaiian Electric, in a news release. "We scheduled overnight work in order to minimize the impact on those affected and we hope this advance notice will enable customers to plan around it."
HECO said it has contacted affected condos and businesses so they can plan accordingly.
The outage will not affect traffic lights or street lamps.
