HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Last-minute Valentine's Day shoppers who are looking for a fun flip on a classic gift should look no further than Honolulu Community College.
Every year for the past 10 years the sheet metal and plastics program creates metal roses made of copper and other materials that are sold to raise money for the class's final project. The steel bought with the money raised will be used to create a hibachi grill this year.
The handmade roses go on sale Wednesday at 9 a.m. for $15 each in Building 17 on HCC's campus. The limit is four per person.
