There is an array of Valentine's shows that are happening this week.
Josh Tatofi is holding his first Valentine's concert called "The Valentine's Date That's Worth The Wait" Friday night, at the Pomaika'i Ballrooms.
The concert will also feature the musical stylings of Kalani Pe'a, Lehua Kalima and Mark Yamanaka.
This has been an incredible year for Josh Tatofi, who recently returned from New York as a nominee in this years' Grammy Awards.
While he didn't return to Hawaii with one of the trophies, Tatofi said that "just to receive the nomination is a wonderful honor."
As a young man growing up, he loved the R&B smooth sounds of artists like Luther Vandross. He also grew up around Hawaiian and Polynesian sounds of his father's band Kapena.
With these different types of music constantly around Tatofi, it's no surprise that the combination of these genres lead him to be the type of artist he is now. While he is proficient at different types of music, it's the R&B harmonies and sound combined with the hawaiian language that makes him stand out in the crowd.
His song Pua Kiele is a classic example of this sound; and according to Josh Tatofi, there is more to come. He is working on a new release hopefully due to be out later this year.
