HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Kupu, a local nonprofit focused on sustainability, is starting an international fellowship program that launches in April.

The Pacific Resiliency Fellows program is for early- to mid-career conservation and sustainability professionals in the Pacific region. The purpose of the program is to create an environment of mentorship, networking, learning and professional development.

"Through our Pacific Resiliency Fellowship program, we are hoping to develop and grow tomorrow's leaders in conservation and sustainability fields so that they can help build more resilient communities," said Elia Herman, senior program manager at Kupu.

Leaders who have just begun to establish their careers in conservation or sustainability related fields are encouraged to apply. Applicants who meet all requirements and are from Hawaii or other smaller Pacific island regions can find more information here.

The deadline to apply is Thursday, March 1.
