Winds today will be light and variable with skies mostly sunny in the morning. After lunch, sea breezes and a few interior clouds and showers could develop. With minimal moisture and instability, we don't expect anything heavy.
But that could change as early as tonight for Kauai, tomorrow and tomorrow evening for Oahu. An approaching cold front will slowly move across the island chain from west to east, turning winds southerly and bringing significant moisture.
The front and its moisture may not completely clear the island chain until the weekend, perhaps later.
Surf is up in the country a bit today, but below advisory levels. It may be big enough to trigger advisories tomorrow.
Waves today will be 8-12 feet north, 5-8 feet west, 1-3 feet east, 2 feet or less south.
There are no weather or marine advisories posted.
