HILO, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) -

An accused serial car thief on the Big Island is scheduled to face a judge Monday.

Now 19-year-old Kahekili Krause will make his initial court appearance in Hilo after being arrested last week Wednesday.

Police say Krause was found passed out in a stolen truck in the Hawaiian Acres Subdivision of Puna with two crystal meth pipes.

Less than two weeks prior to this latest arrest, Krause was released from jail in Hilo.

Over a year ago, Krause was suspected in at least 55 car thefts. He's also accused of driving a car directly towards and officer and evading arrest.

Police suspected Krause of being affiliated with a group of car thieves on the Big Island.
