HILO, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - The mother of Peter Boy Kema will report to jail once again starting Wednesday.
Jaylin Kema's probation officer filed a motion on Monday that stated she failed to comply with the terms of her probation – called Hawaii's Opportunity Probation with Enforcement, or HOPE -- as part of her sentence for the role in the death of her 6-year-old son.
The motion said she was called for random drug testing, but failed to report that day. She was given a two-hour window to provide a urine sample, but was only able to provide a small sample.
She has repeatedly tested positive for marijuana in the past.
Her probation officer is recommending 10 days in jail.
Last year, Kema was sentenced to 10 years probation and one year in jail – which she had already served – for her role in the death of her son in 1997.
