A Big Island teen being prosecuted as an adult for an alleged rape, kidnapping, and robbery just got his bail reduced.

Samuel Latrik was 17 at the time of the alleged attack near the old Kona Airport in September 2016.

Latrik was charged with three counts of first-degree sexual assault, third-degree sexual assault, second-degree assault, kidnapping, second-degree robbery, and first-degree terroristic threatening.

Recently, a judge reduced his bail from $50,000 to $25,000. The reasoning behind the change was was to match the bail of another defendant in the same incident.

The judge also ordered further assessment of Latrik's risk to the community.
