A large disturbance to the northwest of the state will start moving through the islands Sunday, bringing a chance of more widespread heavy showers and possible thunderstorms. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Kauai and Niihau through Sunday afternoon. The watch will be expanded Sunday morning to include Oahu. Maui County and the Big Island will have partly to mostly cloudy skies with spotty showers. Light south to southeast winds will continue to spread volcanic haze from the Big Island to the rest of the state.
A High Surf Warning remains posted for the north and west shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai, the north shores of Maui and the west shores of the Big Island through 6 p.m. Sunday. A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for all Hawaiian coastal waters, except Maalaea Bay, due to the large west-northwest swell. Surf will decline through the day Sunday.
