KONA, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two people died after a crash on Mamalahoa Highway late Friday last week.
Police say 54-year-old Roxane Cho of Kailua-Kona and an unidentified man died after they were hit by a 2013 Nissan sedan travelling south on the highway.
The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. near the 84 mile marker.
Cho and the man were taken to the Kona Community Hospital in critical condition where they later died.
The driver of the sedan, a 55-year-old woman and her passenger were uninjured in the accident.
An autopsy will determine the victims' exact cause of death. Police do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.

This is the first two traffic-related deaths on the Big Island compared to four this time last year.
