Welina me ke aloha kakou, 'o Laiana Kanoa-Wong keia me ka hua'olelo o ka la.
Our Hawaiian word of the day is "Welo" e 'olelo pu kakou: "Welo." A 'o ia! The word Welo means to float or stream in the wind.
Used in a sentence; "E welo mau ku'u hae aloha" which translates as "May our beloved flag forever wave."
Our people love and cherish our Hae Hawai'i, which was commissioned by Kamehameha 'Ekahi as a symbol of progress, peace, unity and Aloha. Let us always remember the love and pride that our kupuna feel when we see our flag "welo" ha'aheo above us. E ola mau ka 'olelo Hawai'i! Aloha.
