Bruno Mars takes home 6 Grammy Awards in big win

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK (HawaiiNewsNow) - Sunday was a big night for Hawaii boy Bruno Mars.

Mars walked home with a whopping six Grammy Awards Sunday, winning in every category he was nominated in.

His hit retro-inspired album "24K Magic" earned him top honors in the Album and Record of the Year categories.

The song "That's What I like" earned him the Grammy for Song of the Year.

But that wasn't all. He also brought home the gold in the R&B categories for Best R&B performance, song and album.

Alongside Cardi B, Mars performed the song Finesse on music's biggest stage, bringing the crowd to their feet.

The latest victories brings Mars' career Grammy total to 11.

And Mars was not the only person with Hawaii ties to earn Grammy recognition.

The song "How Far I'll Go," sung by Hawaii's own Aulii Cravalho in the movie Moana, earned the title of Best Song Written for Visual Media.
