The Rainbow Warrior basketball team lost a heartbreaker Saturday night at the Stan Sheriff Center to Cal State Fullerton, 69-66.
Kyle Allman led the Titans (12-8, 5-3 BWC) with 40 points on 16-of-19 shooting to give his team the come from behind victory. The Warriors led for the majority of the game, going up by 11 points at tone stage in the second half, but the offense stalled and was unable to hold off the Titans attack.
With the loss, Hawaii (13-6, 4-2 BW) dropped from first to fourth in the Big West standings with their first loss in its last six homes games. The Rainbow Warriors also fell to the Titans (12-8, 5-3) at home for the first time since joining the Big West.
Mike Thomas did his part for UH, scoring 26 points and adding six rebounds. Jack Purchase (11) and Gibson Johnson (10) also finished in double-digits.
The Warriors will hit the road to take on UC Santa Barbara this coming Thursday, Feb. 1. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. PT/5:00 p.m. HT.
