HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Warrior volleyball team continued its winning ways Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center, upsetting No. 2 ranked UCLA in four sets (23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-19.)
The No. 3 Warriors (7-0) extended its home win streak to 26 matches and defeated the Bruins for the 10th time since 2013 after falling behind after the first set to rattle of three-straight sets in their favor.
Opposite Rado Parapunov led the way for the Warriors with 15 kills and career-highs of three aces and seven digs. Outside hitters Stijn van Tilburg and Brett Rosenmeier added 13 and 10 kills, respectively.
Daenan Gyimah led the Bruins (7-1) with nine kills while Honolulu-native Micah Ma'a added 37 assists, four aces and three blocks.
The Warriors will look to sweep the Bruins in their two-game home series this Sunday at the Stan Sheriff Center. First serve is set for 5 p.m., HT.
