Heavy thundershowers prompt Flood Advisory for Big Island

HILO, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Flood Advisory has been issued for the Big Island, and forecasters warned driving conditions could be dangerous.

At 4:39 p.m., radar showed heavy rains and thundershowers with rain rates of 3 inches an hour above Hilo to Hakalau.

The advisory is in effect through 7:45 p.m.

Locations in the advisory include Hilo, Laupahoehoe, Ookala, Honomu, Papaikou and Hakalau.
