Running is associated with numerous health benefits, including a reduced risk of hypertension, stroke, heart disease and other conditions. Though seen as an enjoyable and effective method of exercising, running can lead to injuries if you don’t prepare the right way.
We know proper stretching is very important when preparing for a race or even just an afternoon run, but we also know there are various injuries that can be brought on by running, especially if someone is over training or depending on the distance or length of races the person is taking on. Injuries that can occur include: shin splints, Achilles tendinitis, runner’s knee, plantar fasciitis and stress fractures.
