Team Makai dominates Team Mauka in 2018 Polynesian Bowl, 31-14

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - After a slow start, the second annual Polynesian Bowl left those in attendance at Aloha Stadium Saturday night in awe with some highlight reel-worthy defensive plays from some of the nation's most talented Polynesian high school football players.

Team Makai was able to jump out to an early 17-0 lead at the half after a Kyler Gordon interception return for a touchdown with under a minute remaining in the second quarter, and Gordon's squad of Polynesian all-stars never looked back.

Gordon and quarterback Tanner McKee took home the bowl game's Defensive and Offensive MVP awards on the night, respectively.
