Polynesian football heroes honored at Polynesian Football Hall of Fame

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - We are seeing the growth almost every day, even with local boys like Tua Tagovailoa.  We continue to see this grow and look forward to honoring the men who continue to inspire in professional football and our local communities. The first player of Polynesian ancestry to play in the NFL was in 1945 and Polynesian influence and prestige in football has continued to expand and is at an all-time high today, with over 60 NFL players of Polynesian decent. Polynesian Ancestry in American football continues to grow and expand.

The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame is a yearly event held at the Polynesian Cultural Center to celebrate and honor Polynesian Ancestry in football and the players, coaches and contributors who have paved the way in American football for Polynesian players for years to come.Tickets to the enshrinement ceremony where we will induct 5 of Polynesia's greatest players are still available and can be purchased for $25 at www.polynesianfootballhof.org.  The event takes place this Saturday, January 20 at 11:00 a.m.
