HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Police authorities in Honolulu say a fight between crew members on board the Hai Soon 39 led to a fatal stabbing while docked at Pier 10 off Aloha Tower last week.

Prosecutors charged 66-year-old Jong Geun Byun with murder on Wednesday.

Police say a 911 call reporting the stabbing came in just after midnight last Friday. The victim, a 59-year-old man, has not yet been identified.

According to paramedics, he was treated at the scene and then rushed in critical condition to the Queen's Medical Center with what appeared to be a single stab wound to the chest. Officials say he was later pronounced dead.

Byun's preliminary hearing is set for Thursday. He remains in custody on $500,000 bail.
